Around Barmston Farm

Barmston Farm is perfectly placed for exploring nearby towns and villages, each offering its own mix of history, charm and local character. Here are some of our favourites, all within easy reach.

Just 10 minutes away, Beverley is a historic market town known for its stunning Minster, cobbled streets, boutique shops and lively Saturday market. Enjoy a walk across the Westwood pasture, visit a tearoom or spend a day browsing local galleries and cafés.

This charming village is just a short drive from the farm and offers a peaceful setting with a duck pond, village pub and scenic walking routes. Ideal for a quiet visit or lunch out.

One of the largest villages in England, Cottingham has a selection of shops, pubs and cafés, as well as a regular market. A good option for picking up essentials or enjoying a relaxed afternoon.
The village of South Dalton is home to the award-winning Pipe and Glass, a Michelin-starred pub and restaurant set beside a beautiful church and countryside views.
If you're visiting between April and September, Beverley Racecourse hosts regular race days, family events and twilight meetings. A popular local attraction just minutes from the park.
Two peaceful villages in the Yorkshire Wolds with beautiful stone buildings, countryside views and excellent walking routes. Stop at a local pub or just enjoy the scenic drive.
Around 25 minutes away, Hull offers museums, galleries, shopping and attractions such as The Deep. A great option for a cultural day out or a change of pace from the countryside.

Often called the Capital of the Wolds, Driffield is a traditional market town with independent shops, cafés and a canal for waterside walks. Market days are especially worth a visit.

This small village has a lovely green, a local pub and offers great access to walks through surrounding farmland. It's a quiet and pleasant place to explore nearby.
A little further afield, Market Weighton has a mix of independent shops, bakeries and countryside charm. It also has strong links to the Yorkshire Wolds Way walking trail.

After a day of exploring, return to the peace of the park and relax in your cottage or lodge. Put your feet up, light the BBQ or enjoy a sunset walk through the countryside.

We have had a fantastic time at Barmston Farm, the farm is very private and quiet and the accommodation is top end luxury. We enjoyed feeding the alpacas, chickens and the cutest sheep. Kids playground and games room are superb. Lake and walks so peaceful and perfect accommodation to unwind in. Our children truely enjoyed getting back to nature and playing with their friends. Also had some fantastic days out, such a beautiful area. We can not thank Dana and Zane enough, for making us feel so welcome and ensuring we had a wonderful holiday. Love from Australia!

cottages are beautiful with extra little touches that make it even more pleasurable to be in.

We have just returned from a brilliant long weekend stay at Barmston Farm. The caravans are clean, spacious and well equipped. The surroundings are incredibly safe & I felt at ease letting my 2 children run off to the on-site park which they loved! The outdoor space was our children’s favourite. They had so much room to play. The fishing lake is fantastic! It isn’t open to the public so only residents can fish which means that sometimes, you do get the entire lake to yourself! The whole site is exceptionally well kept & the time & effort they have put in to create this hidden gem is clear to see. Prior to our stay, I did read a review about the road being full of pot holes. Yes, it does have pot holes, as do most off road tracks due to the constant bad weather! You can drive around them!

Thank you all! We really hope to return in the summer!
