Enjoy the Water at Barmston Farm

Whether you love to fish or simply unwind by the water, Barmston Farm offers a peaceful setting with beautiful views and easy access to riverside walks and local lakes. Below are our top waterside experiences.

Enjoy complimentary access to our three-acre fishing lake during your stay. The lake is stocked with carp, perch and more. Fishing is catch and release only and night fishing is available with prior approval.
We recommend bringing your own tackle and bait. Pegs are available on a first come, first served basis. Please follow the on-site fishing rules displayed by the lake.
Unwind by the water with our BBQ facilities and outdoor seating areas. Whether it's a morning coffee or a sunset meal, the lake makes a peaceful backdrop for relaxing.

Step out from your cottage or lodge and enjoy riverside walks through open countryside. Great for morning strolls, wildlife spotting or stretching your legs between casts.

Our lake and riverside paths are home to ducks, herons and other local wildlife. Bring binoculars and enjoy the peaceful surroundings at your own pace.
Our lake walks and several local beaches welcome dogs. Dairy Cottage and selected lodges are dog friendly, making it easy to enjoy waterside walks with your four-legged companion.
For those wanting to try something different, there are several day ticket fisheries within a short drive, including waters near Hornsea, Driffield and Brandesburton.
Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake is just 25 minutes away. Take a walk along the shore, hire a rowing boat or watch the birdlife from the café.
Perfect for a change of scenery, Fraisthorpe Beach is wide, peaceful and dog friendly. Cast a line from the shore or enjoy a coastal walk just 30 minutes from Barmston.
Combine waterside views with a woodland walk at this 48-acre park beneath the Humber Bridge. Ideal for a quiet afternoon and just a short drive from the farm.

After a day in the great outdoors, return to the tranquillity of Barmston Farm. Light the BBQ, take a sunset stroll around the lake, or simply relax and recharge surrounded by nature.

We have just returned from a brilliant long weekend stay at Barmston Farm. The caravans are clean, spacious and well equipped. The surroundings are incredibly safe & I felt at ease letting my 2 children run off to the on-site park which they loved! The outdoor space was our children’s favourite. They had so much room to play. The fishing lake is fantastic! It isn’t open to the public so only residents can fish which means that sometimes, you do get the entire lake to yourself! The whole site is exceptionally well kept & the time & effort they have put in to create this hidden gem is clear to see. Prior to our stay, I did read a review about the road being full of pot holes. Yes, it does have pot holes, as do most off road tracks due to the constant bad weather! You can drive around them!

Thank you all! We really hope to return in the summer!

Absolutely fabulous place. Can't rate it highly enough. My son enjoyed the fishing lake & I loved looking around at the animals. Accommodation is fantastic. High end property. One small (very small) complaint, the double room needs a king size bed. A double bed really is just for one person. Also, needs a shelf in the bathroom for toothpaste & toothbrushes. I can't wait to book again. My son thought it was amazing, having its own private fishing lake that was well stocked.

Weve had a lovely little break just the two of us and three grandkids.Theres lots to do on the farm some of the activities are curtailed because of covid but that hasnt stopped them having fun. The caravan was a good size.Theres only five caravans in a horseshoe shape with a small park right next door so the kids had a bit of independence as we could see them from the caravan. We used it as a base and did plenty of exploring. We would certainly come back here again as everyone was lovely and maybe spend a bit longer next time.
